Anodized aluminum strips and foils (anoxal)

We are manufacturers of anodized aluminum strips and foils (anoxal), which is used as a particularly high-performance conductor material, especially for the construction of electromagnets, generators and transformers. It is extremely thin, particularly thermally conductive and temperature-resistant.

The extremely thin layer of insulation from anoxal results in high dielectric strength and optimum thermal conductivity. There are no hot spots, and the resilience increases, since anoxal can be used at a permanent temperature of 500°C – copper windings are only temperature-resistant up to 180°C.

A weight reduction of up to 50% with a similar size and comparable electrical properties compared to copper coils is possible with anoxal.

The use of anoxal in AC applications as well as for DC applications is guaranteed.

Anodized aluminum strips / foils application and benefits

Areas of application

  • Electromagnets
  • Generators
  • Transformers
  • Choke coils

Product benefits

  • very resistant to high temperatures
  • 50% weight reduction compared to a copper coil with comparable electrical properties
  • no "hot spots" inside the coil due to high heat dissipation, therefore no additional insulation required
  • coils made of anoxal do not require more installation space than copper coils with comparable electrical properties
  • insulation class C
